about the site

Immigrant Connection at College Wesleyan has been serving the growing immigrant population in Marion, IN with immigration legal services since 2016. With the nearest provider being an hour away, immigration legal services were a huge need in Marion as well as the neighboring counties.  Immigrants continue to be drawn to job opportunities in farming, hospitality, and restaurants in Grant County, and students with visas from the universities in towns also benefit from the immigration legal services that are now much easier to access.

Host church College Wesleyan Church has worked together with the site to partner with local organizations and the local school district to provide additional services, including ESL classes for students and programs for non-English speaking families, interpretation services for families at the schools, meals and assistance with housing, and support to new families in the community as they get established.  Site Director Beau Hamner notes, “Relationships are being built.  It has been a privilege to get to know immigrants in our community!”
